(3) Bruce Nathan comments: I hope the diesel was not giving any help but 5043 performed very well with speeds above 70 mph much of the way and an even-time start to stop from Leamington to Oxford. From Tilehurst onwards we suffered delays from the all-stations DMU ahead.
