Notes :
(1) A joint venture between The Branch Line Society and First Transpennine Express with proceeds going to The Railway Children Charity.
(2) Due to overrunning overhead line engineering works at Ardwick, the freshly prepared unit for the Tour, 185110, was 'trapped' at the depot but luckily another unit had been stabled at Piccadilly overnight so that was used instead. The delay in departure was due to a combination of 185118 being trapped behind a Cross-Country Voyager, (not due to depart until 09:27) & the Ardwick blockade. The engineering block was due to finish by 07:30 but inspections of the work put the new finish time as 11:00. The decision was made to route the Tour via Stockport & miss the first loop of the day at New Mills.
(3) The Booked 'Down Station Siding' at Sheffield, (between P.2 & the Through Line), was full of stock so Tour routed via P.1.
(4) It was noted, as the train passed Sheffield the first time, that both of the Sheffield Up sidings were also blocked, so during our run to Doncaster & back, arrangements were made for the tour to run through the full length of the Northern section of the Sheffield Through Siding & reverse on the Southern section of the Through Siding. (The Southern section sees some passenger train use by trains using P.1b overtaking trains on P.1a, but the Northern section sees no passenger train use). After reversal, the train ran through the full length of the Northern section of the Through Line again.
(5) As the tour had been booked to use one of the South facing bay platforms for the break, it was timed to run to Holgate Loop & back to one of the West side through platforms to access the Loco line. Due to late running & the need to service the stock, (as it was not the booked unit), the tour ran direct in P.11 & the ECS returned from the depot in P.11. The section to Leeman Road Depot was then covered first after the break with Holgate Loop being done on the run South from York back towards Leeds, thus covering the Loop in full.
