(3) This leg of the tour was originally advertised to be steam hauled by 60007 'Sir Nigel Gresley' throughout, but gauging issues on the Esk Valley line restricted it from moving to London from the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Instead, the A4 joined the train at York, before continuing to Edinburgh. The tour was subtitled 'A Farewell to Gresley' and was to be 60007's last mainline tour before being withdrawn for overhaul.
