(3) John Clifford comments: This was the fourth (and final) day of a 4 day (and one overnight) tour to celebrate fifteen years of operation by GB Railfreight. The original plan was that the Edinburgh Waverley - Liverpool Lime Street leg would be hauled by a Class 92 with the Class 87 working Doncaster - Wembley Yard leg. However Class 92s have not been cleared for the St Helens branch, so it ran as shown. I did not join this part of the tour until Doncaster. It had been diverted between Denton Jn and Heaton Lodge East Jn to run via Hebden Bridge instead of Stalybridge, due to a tree on the line. This meant that we left Doncaster late and were put into Claypole Loop to let the 15.30 Edinburgh - Kings Cross and the 17.07 Harrogate - Kings Cross pass. There were no further delays on the East Coast Main Line (ECML). Once off the ECML we had to wait at Camden Road Central Jn for a London Overground train to shunt, since there was engineering work between Camden Road and Willesden Junction. At Camden Jn we waited for the 20.15 Tring - Euston to pass. There was a further wait at Harlesden Jn for a London Midland train to pass, I didn’t find out what it was. After changing locos at Wembley Yard, we were held at Acton Main Line for reasons which I did not discover. Then, after going round the Greenford Loop, there was a delay at Old Oak Common West to let the 22.18 Heathrow Terminal 5 - Paddington to proceed us.
