Notes
(1) John Clifford comments: This train was run to Haywards Heath for passengers to attend the 'Haywards Heath 175' celebrations. These commemorated the arrival of the railway there 175 years ago. At Haywards Heath station there were many activities such as land trains, horse and carriage rides, marching bands and a Victorian fun fair. The Bluebell Railway had 'A1x' class no. 55 'Stepney' on display. In addition there were shuttles to Ardingly using 1001.

Ardingly Shuttles

This shows what was planned to happen and the actual times only on the ones on which I travelled. Because of the heavy demand two extra trips ran to Ardingly and back. Passengers on the main train were allowed one trip on the shuttles. Otherwise the charge for each trip was £5 and the money raised was donated to local charity St James Hospice.
