Notes :
(1) Jake Robertson comments: The delay at Glaisdale on the return was due to earlier issues on the Tyne Valley Line. This lead to the service we were due to pass at Glaisdale running late and therefore not allowing us onto the single line section to Battersby and Nunthorpe until that had past. Also the delay at Carnforth on the return was due to a late running Preston service and the Northern Belle, which was returning south from Grange-over-Sands and had to wait for the Northern service to reach Carnforth. Another Northern service to Barrow ruined any chances of making up time. In the end both the Midland Pullman and Northern Belle passed just north of Carnforth Station; at the entrance to Carnforth Steamtown.
