Notes :
(1) Stuart Hicks comments: Short stops for pictures at Nuneaton going down, at Crewe, and a very slack schedule coming back south from Nuneaton. 67001/11 and other decaying vehicles noted at Crewe Steel Works, and various 197s at Chester, Llandudno and Holyhead (where several are stored). En route saw at Stafford and Chester going out, and at Llandudno platform 3 returning, the Vintage Trains excursion to Llandudno (5043 with 96100, 35470, 349, 353, 311 Eagle, 3110, 17018, 5198/77/91 and 47240). We ran a little early from Nuneaton but then had an extended wait at Northampton with a stopper that we could have overtaken allowed to go and the one half an hour later preceding us. Then we got caught up at Milton Keynes with large running down trains stopping us accessing platform 2, catching a Glasgow to Euston behind us. However we then had a fairly good run behind it, switching between main and slow lines and eventually – owing to engineering works - heading up (and under the main lines) the lines towards Shepherds Bush before crossing back at West London Junction.
