(1) Bruce Nathan comments: The itinerary stated motive power Derby to Stoke would be Class 2P 4-4-0 and 4F 0-6-0 but instead we had 6P5F 2-6-0 Derby to Macclesfield and two 4MT 2-6-4 tanks Macclesfield to Stoke.
(2) A GUV was added between Macclesfield and Stoke when the observation car was at the front of the train in order to avoid possible damage to the observation car windows by coal dropping from the engine’s bunker.
