Notes :
(1) Route confirmation required. Ken Horan comments: I was the fireman on part
of this trip, myself and my driver signed on at Tinsley then went to Sheffield
station to wait for 5596 to arrive with the railtour from Manchester. The train
went forward diesel hauled going somewhere north. We then watered 5596 and went
up Nunnery Jn onto the GC as far as Darnall East then reversed down Woodburn
triangle and ran tender first into Tinsley yard so that our Foreman could get
some pictures of 5596, we were now engine first, then went back up to Woodburn
Jn and down nunnery bank into Sheffield and headed back up towards the Hope
Valley thro' Dore and Totley tunnel and into the goods yard at Grindleford where
we stayed until it was time to return to Sheffield for 5596 to take over from a
diesel and take the railtour back to Manchester. The reason that we took 5596 to
Grindleford was because the powers that be decided that the public did not want
to see dirty old steam locos, how wrong can you be!! Grindleford was like
Wembley Stadium when we arrived
