(2) Was booked via Garriongill Jn (i.e. Wishaw station avoiding line).
(3) Passengers for Bristol Parkway detrained at Patchway for a bus back to Bristol Parkway station.
(4) John Cassey comments: This was my first railtour. It was booked for a 81/85 north but none were available so surprisingly 87029 was attached. At Crewe we were crossed over into the Up platform 5 for some reason. There were several normal passengers also waiting for a southbound Bournemouth train. Upon departure it was found a woman travelling to Bournemouth on holiday had joined our train and left her husband and children on the platform. Our next stop – Carlisle, to which she came with us. I left the train at Kilmarnock to take part in the S.T.A.R.S depot tour where we visited Ayr Depot, Ayr station, Townhead Yard, Falkland Yard, Irvine, Yoker and Eastfield. Despite this I still needed my last Eastfield 20 for sight until 20205 was on the front of our train at Glasgow Central.
