(2) Peter Finan comments: I believe the purpose of these trains was to promote interest in the aforementioned lines Several points of interest from this day are that a little less than Five years later the route between Brettell Lane & Pleck Jn was mothballed completely, though a run-around facility for MGR trains is now in use between Pleck Jn & Bescot Curve Jn & in the near future a railtour is due to use this stretch of track. The future for the Chase line being much brighter with electrification very much on the agenda & regular MGR trains to Rugeley power station.
