Notes :
Jonathan Juby comments: The scheduled departure time from Waterloo was 09.52, but the stock did not arrive (behind E6003) until 10.00.  It was at 10.21 that 47524 departed. Newly restored Southern Railway class S15 4-6-0 no. 828 coupled on at Eastleigh for the journey via Romsey to Salisbury, where water was taken at the platform, en route to Yeovil Junction. There, no. 828 came off to turn, before hauling the train all the way back to Waterloo.  It did leave the train at Salisbury to take water in the down bay at the Yeovil end of the station, but it definitely came back on for the onward journey to Waterloo, however – I took what turned out to be a very poor slide of it on arrival at Waterloo. I have a half recollection that 828 was not the loco originally intended, and was a late substitute as a result of non-availability. I don’t think I was in to recording the coaching stock that far back, though I am pretty sure the train was made up of Mark 1s.
