Notes :
(1) Due to a steam loco (thought to have been 'Nunney Castle') slipping to a stand at Ais Gill on another railtour, this tour was running two hours late by Kirkby Stephen.
(2) Booked route was reverse of outward however at Stockport the rostered guard had gone home and no alternative guard was available who knew the route via Macclesfield. The train was thus diverted to run to Derby via Crewe. Passengers for Macclesfield used a service train to get home.
(3) By arrival at Stoke-on-Trent (2½ hours late) the line to Derby had been closed for the night. As a result the train was then diverted via Birmingham (passengers for stations along the line to Derby were taken back to their stations by road transport). Due to lack of traincrew however it was decided to run the train as the 21.xx stopping service to Birmingham New Street using the booked EMU crew (the driver acting as pilotman).
(4) 47814 ran out of fuel.
(5) Direct route via Tamworth was closed thus forcing another diversion! Train was due back into Derby at 10pm but was some 5 hours late when it finally arrived.
