Quote from the tour brochure;
1) This is the final train to run by BR’s ‘Special Trains’ (Formerly the InterCity Charter Trains Unit) as from Midnight tonight the new private sector to take over the BR’s Special Trains to Pete Waterman’s becomes the new owner of Special Trains with his company of Waterman Railways, having taken over the mainstream running of charter trains in Britain. To mark the passing of BR’s Special Trains department into private sector to run the very special farewell tour of Special Trains Land Cruise of the ‘Cock o’ the North’ charter from London Kings Cross.
