new station on the 'Lewisham Extension'.

"On this occasion, we are obliged to use a double unit, as single units are not allowed on the Bank branch. In discussions with DRML in June 1997, i.e. just after the previous tour, they made the comment that the previously-refused Bank Headshunt would have been easier to organise than the traversal of the lines within the depots (indeed, it appears that the placing of constraints upon DRML by Her Majesty's Railway Inspectorate for the running of our previous tour means they are no longer able to offer visits within the depots, although they agreed on a one-off basis to circumvent their difficulties in order to honour the already-approved arrangements for that tour.)
The London Fire and Civil Defence
Authority require all passengers to be in the trailing "carriage" on
entry to the Bank Headshunt; prams, etc. and small children cannot be allowed to
travel on this section. Any such passengers can alight and reboard at Bank
before and after this move. It's a shame
that we did not pick up at Bank on the return from the headshunt and passengers
had to wait until Westferry before re-joining their original unit, (but what
about the small children?)
"The route has not been pre-programmed into the DLR computer - we are told that they 'drag and drop' it in on the day - so detailed timings cannot be given."
