Mike Searle comments: this was an unusual outward crossing in that, on driving down the ramp, the ‘rear’ locos headlights were on. Sure enough the on time departure went backwards all the way, crossing onto the ‘right line’ at the first tunnel crossover and then back onto the ‘wrong one’ just before the Coquelles junction in order to have the vehicles facing the right way for unloading.
