Route :
DMU | Route (1) |
??? | High Wycombe - Princes Risborough - ??? - Derby - Doncaster |
??? | Doncaster - (?reverse of outward route?) - High Wycombe |
Notes :
(1) Malcolm Newman comments: I was on that tour which was organised by the Royal
Grammar School in High Wycombe. Although I was not at that school, the
organisers extended invitations to other schools in the town. The stock was a
Class 120 or 124 style DMU that came from the Paddington area. The route was
predominately on the now-closed Great Central lines using the link from Ashendon
Junction to Grendon Underwood Junction. I distinctly remember travelling via
Nottingham Victoria although I cannot be sure whether we actually visited Derby.
We probably went via Chesterfield and the “Old Road” to join the
Sheffield/Doncaster route somewhere around Swinton.
(2) Route confirmation required.
