Notes :
(1) Route confirmation required. This trip is not listed in the Branch Line Society 'Forty Years 1955-1995' publication but it has been confirmed as having run. Leonard Rogers adds: This was a brakevan trip, for a small number of passengers, on the regular 'Ferry Goods', the daily goods train to South Queensferry via the original route (pre - Forth Bridge) from Queensferry Junction at Ratho, through Kirkliston to Dalmeny Junction, and then down to South Queensferry. On the day in question (Boxing Day - we still had trains on Christmas Day and Boxing Day in Scotland back then), the train was hauled by J36 no.65288. It is illustrated on p.33 of the late 'Bill' (W A C) Smith's 2005 book, 'The Lothians' last days of steam', published by Stenlake. The picture shows the train at Queensferry Junction after its return from Queensferry, with all of one wagon and the brake van, plus an extra brake van for the 'railtourers'.
