Farewell to the Brecon Lines of the Cambrian and Midland Railways

Notes :
(1) Timing sheet details a reversal taking at Talyllyn Jn East with engines running round at Talyllyn Juntion, it is therefore assumed this leg was made with the locomotives propelling the stock.
(2) Seen at Welshpool hauled by 46509 & 46504. Peter Fleming comments: The route was as displayed on the ticket. Stops were made at Moat Lane, Builth Wells, and of course Brecon. The motive power from Shrewsbury to Brecon was, as stated, 46504 and 46509. I have no notes of any other. If used throughout they must have worked tender first from Brecon (unless turned there).
(3) The tour timing sheet carried the following note; Birmingham area members should travel by the 9.50am Snow Hill, booking half-day excursion tickets to Shrewsbury (8/-), similar facilities available from intermediate stations to Wolverhampton L.L. Permission has been obtained for the half-day tickets to be honoured by the 7.35pm from Shrewsbury. The 9.10am Chester, 9.40am Hereford and 10.30am Crewe ordinary services, will connect with our special at Shrewsbury.
