British Rail (E.R) / Borough of Scarborough
Scarborough Spa Express

Loco Used steam: 4468 'Mallard'
Stock Used 12 mark 1 vb90mph

Route :

Loco Route
4468 York - Malton - Scarborough
4468 Scarborough - Seamer - Filey - Bridlington - Beverley - West Parade Jcn - Anlaby Road Jn - Brough - Staddlethorpe - Howden - Selby - Gascoigne Wood - Church Fenton - Ulleskelf - York

Notes :
(1) Return to mainline running for 4468. Gordon Lacy comments: On the outward journey, after a sprightly 69mph after Heslerton, we were brought to a stand at signals for over twenty minutes at Weaverthorpe. Line speeds on the return precluded any 'spirited running' and when we were slowed to 19mph & 'crossed over' at Church Fenton, that looked to be our lot, but the loco (despite the heavy load) was still coaxed up to a creditable 74.5mph at Copmanthorpe - a true thoroughbred, to be sure!
