(1) Melvin Teale comments : This tour was notable in that it covered the Sheffield Victoria line, but only as far as Wadsley Bridge and
not as far as Deepcar & Stocksbridge, the extent of the line at the time.
(2) John Cassey comments: This train and the Border Fellsman of 15/04/89 were
originally booked to be hauled by a Class 45/1, which I believe was 45128 after
45106 caught fire but 128 was never reinstated. Both were then booked for a pair
of 31/4’s.
(3) Booked route was via Camp Hill (Kings Norton - Bordesley Jn - St Andrews Jn
- Proof House Jn - Birmingham New Street).
(4) Booked route was; Stenson Jn - Sheet Stores Jn - Trent East Jn - Beeston -
Lenton South Jn - Lenton North Jn - Radford Jn - Trowell Jn - Pye Bridge Jn -
