(4) Doug Lindsay comments: All passengers alighted from Main Line train at Llandudno Junction. The Clockwise tour starting at Blaenau Ffestiniog. Four coaches took c.200 passengers to BF. The Ffestiniog Railway train from there was double headed by 'Blanche' and 'Linda' (tender first) with Obs.150+120+124+121+108+106+14+104+22+26. 'Linda' and 'Blanche' came off at Porthmadog and were replaced by Garrett 143 to Caernarfon. These passengers were coached back to Bangor to join main line train. The Anti-Clockwise tour starting at Caernarfon. Three coaches took c.160 passengers to Caernarfon. The WHR train from there was headed by Garrett 138 with 16+12+110+105+114+113+112+Obs.11. The two trains passed at Beddgelert. (in addition to passing service trains elsewhere). The Garrett came off at Pont Croesor and was replaced by 'Linda' (She came off a WHR service train there and the Garrett took it back up the WHR) 'Linda' took us forward to Porthmadog, where 'Blanche' was added to double head the train up to Blaenau Ffestiniog. We had a rare view of the new L&B Baldwin Loco 'Lyn' in steam at Porthmadog too! These passenger were coached back to Llandudno Junction to rejoin the train. The FR/WHR trains all ran to time and the sun shone throughout! Even with lots of snow still on Snowdon! All in all a great tour, and we were back at Euston on time.
