Notes : 
(1) John Clifford's comments: This was what is believed to be the first working of a Class 68 and a Class 88 to Penzance. There were options to alight at Par (for Newquay), Truro (for Falmouth) or St Erth (for St Ives). At Par there were coaches for a visit to either the Eden Project or the Lost Gardens of Heligan. At Penzance passengers could visit the open day at Long Rock depot. At Long Rock the locos on display were: 08410, 08645, 50007, 50042, 50049, 57605, 66714, 73107, power cars 43002/042, 43162/185, new unit 800008 and steam: 3205, 4612 and former Port of Par 0-4-0ST 'Alfred'. On the outward journey we were checked by the 06.10 Derby - Plymouth in the Tiverton area. This train was almost on time but we were early. There was a stop at Cowley Bridge Jn to let the 08.43 Barnstaple - Exmouth go ahead. At Totnes we caught up the 06.10 so it checked us again. At St Pinnock Viaduct there was a further check, this time by the 10.00 Penzance - Paddington which was 8 minutes late at this point. A stop was made near Long Rock for a reason that I did not discover. Approaching Plymouth on the return journey we were told that there would be a delay as the locos had to come off and go the Laira for fuel. We stopped outside Plymouth as our platform (no. 8) was occupied by the 17.52 Plymouth - Penzance. We were eventually allowed into platform 5 after the 17.25 Plymouth - Leeds had left. The locos returned and we left behind the 18.25 Plymouth - Birmingham which we caught up in the Tiverton area. A check delayed us at Worle Jn as we had caught up the 20.10 Weston-super-Mare - Paddington. I understand that the tour reached Tame Bridge almost on time.
