Notes : 
 (1) John Clifford's comments: There was an option of a visit to the East Anglian Transport Museum at Carlton Colville. This was originally to be by bus from Olton Broad North but was changed on the day to be from Lowestoft. I joined and left the tour at Stratford. Just after leaving Stratford there was a booked stop to let the 10.30 Liverpool Street - Norwich pass. Outside Witham we waited for the 11.00 Braintree - Liverpool Street to cross our path. We ran to time until we were stopped outside Norwich to let three trains into or out of Norwich (12.36 Norwich - Yarmouth, 12.40 Norwich - Cambridge and 11.55 Cromer - Norwich; this one was 7 minutes late). This meant a late arrival and departure from Norwich, but there was still a problem ahead. Just before Reedham Swing Bridge we were warned that a swan and her cygnets were on the line. We found them just after Haddiscoe and waited for them to cross the line. Arrival at Lowestoft was 37 minutes late. The following service train from Norwich (12.58) was also delayed by 37 minutes. Its return working at 13.48 left 30 minutes late. There was a booked E.C.S. working to Norwich and back for tanking but this was cancelled. We left on time for our return journey with tanking being done at Norwich in the time that we were there. We had been booked to go ahead of the 17.30 to Liverpool Street, with that train passing us while we were looped at Ipswich. With tanking being done we departed behind the 17.30. The only other comment is that we caught up the 18.05 Clacton - Liverpool Street at Witham and so got to Stratford 5 minutes late.
