(4) Ashton-in-Makerfield : The plan was to reverse on the Haydock Branch and enter the Hanson 'Kelbit' Sidings, but there were no staff available to clamp the points.
(5) John Clifford's comments: When this tour was first advertised the locos were to be 31128 and a 'Crompton'. However the 'Crompton' was not available so a class 37 was substituted. The name of the tour comes from the fact that a resident of Haydock are known is known as a 'Yicker'. The tour ran roughly to time (or early). We didn’t go into platform 2 at Crewe as there was a unit berthed there.
