(1) Railway Children in conjunction with DRS & Branch Line Society raising money for the Railway Children charity.
(2) Section beyond Barrow C.S. was booked for 2x37 with 1x37 on rear. The third loco was planned to be 37038.
(3) Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway used to take walkers to Dalegarth for Scafell Pike.
(4) 1Z85 listed in STN as Barrow-in-Furness to Fort William, but section from Barrow to Ravenglass run as Class 5.
(5) Porterbrook Three Peaks by Rail Challenge. Bangor for Snowdon, Ravenglass for Scafell & Fort William for Ben Nevis....
"The only event that does the Three Peaks by train! Climb the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales with a special train taking you to each".
(6) On the homeward run, passengers could alight & catch the 1M18 (17:40 Glasgow Central - Euston), which had a 'Special Stop Order' for Motherwell, (Booked 17/53 - Actual 17.??a ~ 17.57½d). 390049 worked the 1M18 which passed us at Beattock Summit at 18/18½. That service was due at Crewe at 20.47~20.49, although according to RTT actually called 21.04~21.06.
